Hi all, I finally have my 2400 DPI Epson printer/scanner set up, so I grabbed the free trial of Prizmo and gave it a shot. I used the manual the printer came with as a test document.
1. The app has a bunch of unlabeled buttons and seems very cluttered. 2. There are options that make no sense at all, such as how big the page is. Can't it figure out the page size by, you know, looking at the page? Why do I have to choose that? 3. The scan took minutes - I walked away for a while, and came back, and it was done (finally), but... 4. It slowed my Mac down to a near halt! VO would not respond, and toggling it off and on resulted, some twenty seconds after pressing the keys, in VO turning off. Only after much more fiddling did I get VO running again. Eventually, the Prizmo app started behaving normally, so I tried OCR... 5. OCR did nothing. All I saw was the same screen I'd seen before, no HTML area, no text, nothing but the image and a bunch of options, plus unlabeled buttons. Overall, considering their iOS app, I expected a great deal more from Prizmo on the Mac. Are there settings I need to change? Does anyone have hints for getting things to actually work? Thanks for any thoughts. Have a great day, Alex (msg sent from Mac Mini) [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
