I use cmd-left bracket. Sometimes I, too, have to toggle VO off and on, but 
that is rare. Some people also like to open a link in a new window or tab, so 
that ehy can then close it and return to where they were since VO usually goes 
to the top of even a properly rendered page when one uses the "back" command.
