Hi Ricardo

Yes voiceover is doing a number of things differently since yesterday. I
don't know whether it is related or not, but I did download and install
dropbox and I, for the first time, did a backup to time capsule. The
different things I notice with voiceover, apart from what I mentioned: 1.
When I am in the dock after moving along the dock, when I try to go back to
desktop with control option shift D, voiceover just repeats the item it is
on in the dock. It does move the voiceover cursor and keyboard focus back to
desktop (I can verify that with voiceover plus F3 and F4 respectively); 2.
When I am in Safari on Pages (I had no problems with this before), sometimes
when I am going through the contents of the page, voiceover just makes a
clicking noise on the links instead of reading them. When I move off them
and back on, it then reads the link; 3. When I am arrowing through the menus
in various built-in applications sometimes (not consistent all the time but
only since yesterday) voiceover will start to read the menu item but cut off
after maybe one syllable. Arrowing down through the items will do the same,
partly read the item but again, not all the time; 4. Again not consistent,
occasionally it refuses to talk to me at the login screen despite the
setting being enabled for it to do so; and 5. The date and time reads in a
different voice and seems to take awhile (I am not sure if this is a recent
change or whether voiceover has always done this), as far as I can work out
it is using the default voice that the mac came with.

I was going very well I thought, until yesterday, having just had the mac
for about a week. Is this fixable, being that a number of stupid things are
happening, or is it a case of taking the mac back to default (no idea how to
do) and starting over? Appreciate any advice.

Kind Regards
Janine

Hi,

besides it saying something different, does your Mac or Voiceover act any
differently in the finder or, anywhere else after login?

changed. I don't know what I have done. After start up the voiceover used to
say "Finder Desktop Macintosh HD selected volume" now it says "Finder
Desktop Desktop". When I check where the cursor is with VO F3, it says
"Macintosh HD is in the voiceover cursor". When I check my keyboard focus
with VO F4, it says "nothing has keyboard focus". Does this explain why it
is saying Finder Desktop Desktop? Does anyone know how do I get it back to
saying the original message Finder Desktop Macintosh HD selected volume?
