Hi, The Drag & Drop feature of VO-Comma/VO-period was not as reliable in Lion as it is in Mountain Lion. I'm guessing, then, that the process I outlined simply won't work in Lion. You may be able to do this with the old fashioned Drag & Drop method from Snow Leopard of VO-cmd-space for the Mouse-down action and the same for the Mouse-up action after you've got it where you want it.
