Hello Timothy,

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.

There are two ways of creating lists in Pages, and your way is one of them.

There's no need to type in the numbering. Just type your list with each item
followed by Return, then select the whole list and go to the Text inspector.
Select the List tab then navigate right to the Numbers indentation type pop up
button and select the type of numbering you require. Pages will insert the
numbering automatically.

Unfortunately, VoiceOver cannot read these numbers, but if you select the whole
list and use the Services command "New TextEdit Window Containing Selection"
then you'll be able to check that the numbering is correct.

The other way of creating a list in Pages is to type the first item in the list
then press Return. Press Left Arrow to be before the Return character, then go
to the Text Inspector and select the List tab. Choose the numbering for your
list. Return to your document, press Return and type the next item in the list.

When you're done, press Right Arrow to get past your original Return character.
Press Return to leav a blank line and you'll be back out of your list and ready
to continue normal text.

Cheers,

Anne
