No, I think you still need to enable deleting by turning off archiving. Otherwise if you just choose Archive, the Inbox flag will be turned off and that message will sit in All Mail forever. You have to move the message to the Trash folder and I'm pretty certain that without Archiving, it will get moved to the Trash folder for you. I need to look at my iOS toys and be sure I'm right here. I remember reading something about how the gmail related accounts do it the right way when deleting is available.
