Hi, folks. I have decided, because of all of the horrific things going on with
my computer, to go back to Mountain Lion, and have an appointment with Apple
tomorrow. However, I am attempting to back up with Time Machine first, and
will copy my document folders in addition, since the automatic back-up will
have Mavericks.
I believe my back-up completed, but when I interact with the scroll area and
look at both my documents back-up and the automatic back-up, there is a date, a
time, but in “size” it is saying “—-“ which has me thinking it didn’t actually
back up. While it was backing up, I attempted to get a progress indication, but
could do absolutely nothing with the computer. Every time I tried doing
anything, I got beeps from the keyboard, and attempts to change windows
resulted in “time machine dismissed”. I am at my wit’s end; I cannot go back
for the reinstallation of ML until I’ve got everything backed up.
