Next. Attach files to e-mail message either with Shift+CMD+a or else you can do it via cutting and pasting the way I do. To get attachments from an e-mail, I use the file menu for that since I upgraded to 10.9. As for the hopt key for calling the server for new mail, I use Shift+Cmd+n. HTH.
