Dear List,
Using Mountain Lion, as I arrow up and down the list of email messages,
VO is causing them to be marked as read.
The reason I know that it is Voice over, is that turning off VO and
arrowing up down the list did not cause the mail to be marked as read.
after about an hour phone call with Apple Accessibility, they suggested
I change settings in VO Utility settings.
1. tell mouse to ignore VO cursor
and 2. keyboard not to follow VO cursor.
They also told me to use quick Nav.
While this solved the mail being marked as read, it made it hard to open
a message because the VO cursor was not on the same message as the
keyboard focus.
so I switched the VO settings back to the way they were.
It seems like I will have to live with the problem of mail being marked
as read just by arrowing up or down the list,
unless you have any suggestions?
