Hi Don,

The command to move an application to the Dock is Command-Control-Shift-t, if 
you’re using Mavericks.  To add an item to the Dock, open your Applications 
folder and locate the app you want to add.  Then, just type the key combination 
above.  VoiceOver will say something like “Add to Dock.”

As far as I know there isn’t any limit to how many apps you can keep on the 
dock.  You can remove the apps you don’t use from Apple from the Dock, but you 
cannot delete them from your computer.
