Hi Brian,
I am using this set up right now. And, There was a podcast as you
remember but he did it slightly differently then I do it.
I believe David used a Apple TV and had the Screen share option used to send
the sound from the mac to it. He had the option to send the VO voice with it
or keep it coming out of the Mac. It was a long time ago that I listened to
this so sorry for the lack of detail.
In my case I have a set of powered speakers plugged into my mac and I have VO
coming out of that. I also have a air port express working as a digital audio
output for my stereo
.
I actually have more then one stereo set up this way so I can send
the music where I want it. I can use the same devices to send sound from my
iPhone to my stereos. I plan to change the Express to a apple TV on my main
stereo so that I can set things up more like David Woodbridge did. I expect
this will let me put sound to the stereo from anything playing on the mac
rather then just those sources that have airplay.
I hope this info is helpful. You can definitely have your mac work the way
you describe.
