I know that they place several restrictions on what you can and cannot do to have your app in the app store. I've also read that some developers do not use the app store because they want the freedom to develop their app without Apple playing big brother. Sounds like their restrictions did not cause you too many problems though.

I’ve considered it but post-release it’s much easier to have it automatically update through the app store than trying to authenticate versions with a server and prompt the user to update constantly. Then having to deal with feedback from different versions etc… It’s still on the “maybe” list but the issue they found with the client is minor and already fixed, so we will see.

You may want to consider offering the app directly if you don't want to deal with Apple's restrictions and taking too long to approve it.

I expect iMud will be released on the app store before the end of January, I can’t give a lot of information past that, iTunes connect is down until the 28th of December I’ll keep trying after that. I’ve cleared up all issues that were found with the app so It should get through the review process.

Hello,

For those of you who helped me beta test iMud (the accessible MUD client) and for those who are interested iMud has been submitted to the mac app store! I haven’t heard yet whether they’re actually going to be putting it on but the bulk of the work has been done and it’s a fully functional client (even in mavericks). I’ll keep everybody posted on whether it gets accepted or rejected
