Everything Mavericks is 64-bit so the plugin will fail.
If I recall, Ogg Drop just messes with the file types so iTunes would recognize it as a sound file. That was the second step if the quicktime ogg plugin had worked. If you're willing to convert the ogg files to something iTunes is happy with then there probably are utilities to do that. What format are you converting them into?

Um.. Nope!
I tried the plug in yesterday and it’s not mavericks compatible. I also tried
something called ogg drop which also turned out to be non mavericks compatible.
I just got another suggestion from somebody about vlc itself, so will try that.
If that doesn’t work for us, guess I’ll just have to keep on giving the files
to hubby to convert with gold wave.

Used to be that you could add the Ogg codec to QuickTime so iTunes could play
back those files automatically. Unfortunatly the QT component for Ogg hasn't
been updated since 2009 and fails under 64-bit. If you're not running 64-bit it
might still work for you:

That would at least get them working in iTunes but I suspect AirPlay still
would not support them.

Hi,
I just got vlc so I can play ogg files without having to get my dear husband to
convert them for me..
Is there a way to have them airplay, like there is in i tunes?

thanks!
