You just copy it into your application folder. Some apps do have a normal 
installer, in which case you’ll see that before you run it. For apps that you 
got outside the app store, you may want to deactivate gate keeper, as most apps 
aren’t signed and won’t open without you having to go through a menu to force 
it to open. To do that go to system preferences, security and privacy. Unlock 
the controls with the “click the lock to make changes” box, then go to the 
general tab and set “allow apps downloaded from” to “anywhere”.
