Thank you so much Alex. I understand now. System prefs I can set for HDMI and VO as it is now through speakers! Yay!! No more problems hearing If I am wrong, please correct the above.

If you set the Mini to use the HDMI output for sound, then set Voiceover to use headphones, vo will speak through any speakers attached to your headphone jack and not through the system default (which would be the HDMI).
