I assume from what you said you wrote to the downcast folks? It took them about three days to get back with me, and though I did not have the same issue my downcast would also crash whenever I started it. It has been running perfect since then, I think they are still feeling their way in to iCloud sinc and if too many podcasts are in the sinc bad things happen. No proof just a feeling.
