• Are you wanting VO to read the contents of your slide to the audience?  If 
so, you’d need to navigate to the Title or Body of your slide at which time VO 
would read whatever item is in focus.

• Go under the View menu and choose Show Presenter Notes.
• There will now be two Slide Layout areas.  The first is the area for Title, 
body, Images and such and the second is the Notes area.
• It seems that you need to route the mouse to the Edit field in the notes area 
and click the trackpad to allow you to enter your notes.  A VO-shift-space may 
work but I haven’t tried that.
