Hi all, I just wanted to say that the re-install seems to have gone as planned. I haven't restored any of my apps or files yet, but I have set up Mail, and of course my mail and contacts and such are here thanks to the magic that is iCloud and IMAP mail. So far things seem to be moving much faster, but only time will tell if that continues to be the case. Either way, I got rid of my dusty old Windows partition and got a chance to refresh this machine after about two and a half years of use, so thanks to Ray and others for pushing me to take this step. Now, to go see if my data comes back over from the Time Machine drive!
