Hi,

GSSD, according to 

http://triviaware.com/macprocess/all

provides services to the Generic Security Service API.  Not sure specifically 
what that does but that's what I located.  I did note that, according to some 
various posts around the net,  in some previous versions of MacOS, it had 
caused some problems.
