Hi, The iCloud Mail service uses iMap as well and therefore is totally syncable across all your Apple devices. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Apple prides themselves on most of their services being totally usable across all their devices. With respect to being charged for Mail, I've never heard anything even remotely close to that as a potential option with their iCloud Mail service. Like Google, it's your other storage data that is in the realms of chargeable.
