Thanks going to try both of these now. Since it seems Apple Accessibility might have been wrong about accessing the date chooser, hopefully they were also wrong about getting to mail. I tried opening Time Machine over mail last night, but Time Machine always opened in my desktop finder window not in mail like it supposedly does with VoiceOver off.
