I forgot to say when I replied last time that yes the only way to get your 
files out of your braille  display is to take the card out. I just make sure 
that I take the card out after I have done the space Z command to get out of 
the notepad program. I don't know if I have to do that, but I am chicken not 
too. Ever since a long time ago my husband fried my Apple II by putting in a 
card without turning it off, I have been very leery about taking things in and 
out without getting out of my program or turning off my device  off.  However, 
I have not found this to be a problem at all.
