Hi guys
Because of my job, I have several displays now. I still have, and will continue
to have, my Braille Edge 40. It pairs great these days. I use it on Bluetooth
all the time; no problem.

I thought VO would let me pair the Focus 14 without killing off the Braille
Edge in my list of braille displays. There's a lot of weirdness going on when I
use the Focus 14 with USB. I did this with my PacMate braille display once and
it was no problem. I just plugged in the cable and presto VO recognized it. VO
recognized the 14 as well, but it messed up Finer and everything. It started
leaving out dots, and typing on it became a real pain after a while.

When I deleted the Braille Edge off the list, my computer suddenly could find
it. When I tried to pair with the pair button in the VO utility, VO said that
it could not find the driver. I find that to be a little strange since it at
least recognized it in the list of braille displays and also let me use it with
USB, even though it was messed up. The other weird thing is that when I finally
gave up for the evening so that I could get more of my real work done, and I
deleted the 14 off the list, VO never asked me for the pairing code for the
Braille Edge 40, never mind that I had deleted it off the braille display list.

After I finish some work that I have to get done this morning, I am going to
turn off bluetooth on the Mac and then shut down the computer and start
completely over, including taking off all braille displays. By the way, I am
typing this message on the Braille Edge which is still continuing to work fine;
I was afraid it would get messed up too.

I am also going to test the 14 with my iPhone. I am going to do all this before
I call Apple so that I truthfully say I can't figure it out any more. If you
guys have any other ideas, thanks ahead of time.

Regards,
Gigi
