The test if for {{{ni != NULL}}} isn't needed - it ni is NULL we have a
NULL pointer dereference in line
[source:trunk/net80211/ieee80211_node.c#L1323 line 1323] anyway.
Which makes me think if we shouldn't be more careful about such situations
in general. My (unproofed) feeling is that many of the issues users are
currently facing are caused by situations that could be revealed by
asserting that a passed NULL pointer isn't dereferenced and be avoided by
correctly handling such situations where necessary.
