OK, it looks like Linux 2.4 allows both ulong and pointer as address in
readl/writel for most architectures due to casts in macros. In fact, some
drivers (see e.g. hermes.h) use ulong as address. So, I think we should
be using ulong on Linux 2.4.
Revision 1416 should fix this issue.
