I'm having the same problem on my u5, just hardlocks when loading ath_pci.
Madwifi snapshot r1416, kernel 2.6.15.1, gcc-3.4.5, binutils-2.16.1.
Card is a DWL-G510 rev. B1 (AR5215).
Just ring my bell in anything you want to test.
