I'm not confident that this issue is solved simply by switching the Linux
distribution you use. You can try, but I doubt that this will help (other
than ensuring that you have some work during the next hours/days).
So even if you move the Atheros card to another PCI slot you don't get a
''wifi0'' interface, is that correct? Could you please paste a complete
dump of the ''dmesg'' output right after you (re)started your box (again
with {{{ {{{ }}} and {{{ }}} }}})?
