A makeshift solution that works (at least to the extent of not requiring
me to climb into the attic and reset the router) is to set up a cron job
every 2 hours to stop dhcp, stop hostapd, unload madwifi modules, reload
modules, start hostapd, and start dhcp, in that order. I've had it
running like this for over two days now, and no problems.
The only downside is that every two hours all clients go offline and must
reassociate, which takes about 20-30 seconds. Not a big deal for me. I
still really hope that this gets fixed.
