What version of MadWifi are you using, madwifi-old or madwifi-ng (and
which revision)?
Can you please check if the issue remains when you run the WLAN without
any encryption (this is to narrow down your assumption about wrong
handling of WPA encryption for broadcasts)? Could you provide a capture
file of what you actually see in Ethereal and/or tcpdump?
