In reference to this ticket, there's a change history asking
"What rate control module are you using?"
I'm encountering the same thing, however, my system does not crash. See
output below from dmesg. The wireless interface is using Managed mode
and the AP is created as a station, "wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev
wifi0 wlanmode sta".
