Hi!
I had the same problem on am64 (gentoo-2.6.15-r7 kernel) with d-link g650
card followed by severe kernel panics.
The problem was that when started playing with madwifi driver, I emerged
it with 'ammr' useflag; later i changed kernel config and updated to
r1475, but old ammr module remained in /lib/../ and getting loaded.
Removing the 'stale' module solved (that) problem.
