I had a similar issue when using the cvs code on a ppc board with 405gp
cpu and it turned out that i was defining wrong endianess flags during
make.
Once this was resolved the driver loaded succesfully
Used ath_hal: 0.9.14.9 wlan: 0.8.6.0 ath_rate_sample: 1.2 ath_pci: 0.9.6.0
