Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

 I think this is just about ready.

 Several people have helped test this patch, and it appears to work well in
 a variety of environments.

 Testing included various crypto configurations (CCMP vs TKIP, mostly), and
 various supplicant programs. wpa_supplicant alone, and
 wpa_supplicant+NetworkManager both worked like a charm. I was not able to
 get xsupplicant working, using either the private madwifi ioctls or the
 wireless extensions API. There were several problems with xsupplicant,
 some due to incorrect usage of the wireless extensions API, others due to
 crashes in the xsupplicant program. I gave up on troubleshooting them - I
 think the problems are in user land, not the driver.

 Tested authentication systems were:

 {{{
 WPA-PSK
 WPA2-PSK
 WPA-TTLS
 WPA2-TTLS
 IEEE80211x TLS
 open networks
 static WEP
 }}}

 All of those worked well, except WEP. Static WEP keys failed due to what
 I think is a bug in wpa_supplicant. They work fine when configured by
 hand using iwconfig. I've opened defect 140 against wpa_supplicant.
 We'll see whether Jouni agrees it is a wpa_supplicant bug.
