The original poster should be able to confirm this assumption, by trying
both r1449 and r1450. If r1450 fails while r1449 works for him, the new
HAL might be the culprit.
@original poster: if you paste stuff like the kernel oops log, please
enclose them with {{{{{{}}} and {{{}}}}}} to make sure that it's readable.
