Ok some more words.
I always had problems with my realtek 100mbit network card. With fully
acpi enabled, i wasn`t able to use it. I got no connection. This is a well
known problem and after some research on the web i found a soultion. Simpy
set acpic=off. During the last days i recognize, that the networkdevice
still don`t work very good. From time to time the connection break and i
got this message in my kernellog: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed
out. This error occurs, like the problem with my wificard, on high
traffic. For example after transfering 500mb from my fileserver via ftp.
So i look on the web again and someone solved this problem by booting with
acpi=noirq. Final this works for me. No more timeouts with eth0.
Because the error exactly looks like the problem i got with my
wificard(but there wasn`t a message in my kernel-log), i give her a second
chance. And i got no more breaks till now.
Still wonder, i got no problems when i had acpi=off but using wifi without
wpa_supplicant.
Anyway i don`t think anymore it is a madwifi problem. This i a very old
laptop and there is something rotten with acpi.
@mentor I will try to do this, but my hdd starts making trouble. Sounds
like the next headcrash isn`t very far. So it will take some time before i
reinstall erverything!
