You don't see ath0 in the ''ifconfig'' output because ath0 has not been
brought up yet. if you call ''ifconfig -a'' instead you will see all
existing interfaces, even those that are down.
In addition, your conclusion is wrong. Following
[http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/?string=00%3A14%3A85 this query] the MAC
address of eth0 indicates it's a device made by Gigabyte and most probably
is the ethernet interface that comes with your motherboard.
Bottom line: I second dyqith, I don't see a problem here, so I'll close
this report as invalid. If we both missed something, feel free to reopen
the report and provide more detailed information on the issue.
