#817: Error when trying to place wireless card in monitor mode

Hi,
I just installed the madwifi-kmp-default-0.9.0_2.6.16.13_4.1-1.2.i586.rpm
and madwifi-0.9.1-1.1.i586.rpm rpms on a Suse 10.1 system for the Cisco
System Aironet 802.11a/b/g Wireless Adapter. The system sees the card;
however, I am getting the following error:
"Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument."
when trying to place the card in "monitor" mode using the following
command:
"iwconfig ath0 mode monitor".
Any idea why? Thanks a lot in advance.
