Hi there,
We are interested to know whether Madwifi do have the open Artheros HAL
that could allow us to control the atheros drive to do bandwidth spacing
such as:
1) Able to support narrow channel 20/10/5MHz (cloaking). Cloaking
options capable are used to reduce the channel spacing to produce more
usable channels, at a cost of throughput. In typical 2.4GHz wireless AP,
there are only 3 non-overlapping channels available but with cloaking we
can use all 14 channels without interference. This is done by reducing the
channel bandwidth spacing down to as low as 5Mhz per channel instead of 20
in normal mode. Cloaking 2x = 10Mhz bandwidth, and channel spacing at 1/2
the speed. Cloaking 4x = 5Mhz bandwidth and channel spacing, at 1/4 the
speed. Using either 2x or 4x modes will also hide the AP from all other
systems (AP stealth), and will not show up in any scan lists, etc. The
distance will also be 2x and 4x that of standard modes, respectively.
2) Able to broadcast & scan all channel ranges from 2.3 to 2.5 GHz and
4.9 to 6 GHz or auto-select
3) Can have multiple virtual AP (VAP) on a single radio
4) Support Atheros Turbo mode 108Mbps, Super Range, XR & hardware
compression technology.
5) Support AP, client (managed) & Ad-Hoc mode.
6) Driver is compliable across platform.
We are looking for this Atheros driver to develop the bandwidth spacing to
avoid inteferance issue for our development, we hope MAdwifi developer
team could assist us on this matter.
