 Actually this is because the hardware assigns the Sequence Numbers to
 outgoing packets unless a Retry Bit is set. For some uses (e.g. debuging
 with packet sniffer) it may be important to know what Sequence Number each
 frame was assigned.

 The patch:

 solves the problem by overwriting packets' SN after tx descriptors are
 processed.
