Yeah, there's an interim solution. Tell your friends: boycott Atheros
until they document their hardware (without NDA requirements), so there
can be a proper GPL driver.
Begging and whining to some vendor and getting nothing for years was a big
reason open source happened in the first place... There are alternatives
that work with the open source community, so I don't see why you'd support
this company.
