I've read this complete thread and tried every suggestion. Unfortunately,
nothing worked for me. I bought a new router... Problem solved.
My router was becoming a bit old and was hanging from time to time. After
a few hang, madwifi was accumulating too much garbage (I suppose) and was
totally stuck. The only way I was able to reconnect after that is by
restarting my computer. Another symptom I noticed after a madwifi hang is
glitch in the mouse motion.
Config : Macbook pro with AR5418 Artheros wifi card. Ubuntu gutsy gibbon,
kernel 2.6.22. madwifi r2824
