AR5008-based cards should already be supported in trunk (but not in the
stable releases that are available today). However, this support only
covers use of these cards in "legacy" mode, with 11a/b/g. There is no
802.11n support for transmission with up to 300 MBit/s.
As far as MadWifi is concerned it most probably won't ever be made
available, since it has been declared legacy some weeks ago and no new
features will be worked on by the core team. It's much more likely that
true 802.11n support will occur in ath5k instead, but a lot of work needs
to be done for that.
I close this ticket as invalid, as it does not deal with a defect or other
kind of bug. Any further questions on that topic should be directed to our
