Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
i'm getting exactly the same error, but with debian/unstable
(1:0.9.3+dfsg-3)
looking back on my use of atheros and madwifi, i cannot say - ever - that
i've
ever had a successful connection. ever. not in over three years of using
madwifi on debian, many many times.
from what i remember, it's always the failure to associate.
scan: fine.
iwconfig: fine.
associate with access point: barf.
(yes, mode is set to "sta", via a rather circuituitous route involving
/etc/network/if-pre.up/050madwifi which performs the necessary wlanconfig
commands)
