 Hans,
 was wondering if your wifi device is pcmcia? I had the exact same
 experience that you described in this ticket. During my search of the net
 for an answer I found a post for someone having the same experience with a
 pcmcia wifi card in fedora core 6. His solution was to remove and re-
 insert the card. So I powered down, removed the card, booted up (in my
 case Fedora Core 8), logged in as root, then inserted the card. The
 /var/log/messages file had the same error messages as before, but this
 time, the dhcp was answered and the card received and IP address. Not sure
 why the card had to be removed (maybe a hard reset?), but might be worth a
 try.
