Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
Yes, I was mixing ath5k and Madwifi. I don't know why, but they were both
installed
when I have installed Madwifi.
I was successful in removing ath5, however I get the same message in
dmesg:
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:06:00.0[A] -> GSI 19 (level, low) -> IRQ 19 PCI:
Setting latency timer of device 0000:06:00.0 to 64 wifi%d: unable to
attach hardware: 'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:06:00.0 disabled APIC error on CPU0:
40(40) APIC error on CPU0: 40(40) APIC error on CPU0: 40(40) APIC error on
CPU0: 40(40)
And still I cannot create the device :
wlanconfig: ioctl: No such device
I have also noticed that the wifi card is always disappearing from
/etc/sysconfig/hwconf for kernel 2.6.23 although for kernel 2.6.18 it
wasn't. I have updated the kernel to 2.6.24, and now both network cards
have disappeared although the Broadcom one is normally functioning (I can
access Internet).
