#1873: state of rfkill hardware switch not recognised by madwifi-0.9.4
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
 Reporter: anonymous | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: major
Component: madwifi: driver | Version: v0.9.4
 Keywords: Hardware rfkill | Patch_attached: 0
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
Madwifi-0.9.4 installs and connects fine with Atheros AR5005G 802.11abg
(rev 1), provided hardware rfkill is ON during boot. If the switch is OFF,
then madwifi sill tries to connect to the access point. This is painful,
especially in combination with wpa_supplicant, because the boot process
 takes 5 minutes.

No matter whether madwifi runs outside the kernel or whether I patch the
kernel first: connectivity is fine, state of hardware rfkill switch is not
 recognised.

PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 PCI-PCI Bridge; Slackware 12.0
 on vanilla 2.6.24
