On the basis of what we have learned about the HAL from our work with it.

This does not necessarily say that the HAL does control your bluetooth
device. It's most probably a side effect of something that's done in
MadWifi (the open source part, not the HAL) to initialize your WLAN card.

ath5k is a totally different driver, and it does most things in a
different way than MadWifi.

This conclusion is not obvious, and I even go forward and claim that it's
totally wrong.

We don't develop the HAL, nor do we have access to its source code. You
need to talk to Sam Leffler, since we get the HAL binaries that are used
in MadWifi from him.
