I have a simillar issue. I was getting a system lockup after
invoking[[BR]][[BR]]
''iwconfig wlan0 essid "myessid" channel 6''[[BR]][[BR]]
This may have been due to an existing ath5k driver. I
executed:[[BR]][[BR]]
''echo blacklist ath5k >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist''[[BR]]
''updatedb''[[BR]]
''rm -rf '`locate ath5k'`''[[BR]]
''rmmod ath5k''[[BR]][[BR]]
and I no longer receive immediate freezes, but after 4 hours of operation
and successful ethernet bridging through wlan0 the system froze again --
without reporting any errors.[[BR]][[BR]]
