New description:

 am cross compiling madwifi-0.9.4 drivers for my ppc board on the colinux
 host environment for the SR5 wlan module.am successfully able to cross
 compile for the target ppc running linux-2.4.25 and able to generate the
 loadable modules in the respective directories and able load them
 successfuly without any problem too.

 when i insert the ath_pci module the output i get on my console is

 {{{
 insmod ath_pci.o
 wifi0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
 wifi0: turboA rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
 wifi0: H/W encryption support: WEP AES AES_CCM TKIP
 wifi0: mac 5.9 phy 4.3 radio 3.6
 wifi0: Use hw queue 1 for WME_AC_BE traffic
 wifi0: Use hw queue 0 for WME_AC_BK traffic
 wifi0: Use hw queue 2 for WME_AC_VI traffic
 wifi0: Use hw queue 3 for WME_AC_VO traffic
 wifi0: Use hw queue 8 for CAB traffic
 wifi0: Use hw queue 9 for beacons
 }}}

 but when i hit the command iwconfig i get the output as shown

 {{{
 bash-2.05b# iwconfig
 lo        no wireless extensions.

 wifi0     no wireless extensions.

 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 16
 of Wireless Extension, while this program is using version 13.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0      IEEE 802.11a  ESSID:""
           Mode:Managed  Channel:0  Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
           Bit Rate:0kb/s   Tx-Power:0 dBm   Sensitivity=1/0
           Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
           Encryption key:off
           Power Management:off
           Link Quality:0  Signal level:0  Noise level:0
           Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
           Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

 eth0      no wireless extensions
 }}}

 when i look for the accesspoint to connect as am using the Dlinks AP
 am unable to scan for the AP and its essid to connect to

 {{{
 bash-2.05b# iwlist ath0 ap
 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 16
 of Wireless Extension, while this program is using version 13.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0 No Access Point in range
 }}}

 and this is a crucial stage in my project where i got to make it work.

 please do help me in this regard or suggest me the mailing list to contact
 for getting the help in this regard.

 your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
