up to madwifi trunk r3480 there was a working "workaround" for this "bug".
Until this bug is fixed, having the mips platform inoperable for such a
long time on latest madwifi trunk is not a good thing. since this bug was
first reported here, I wonder if anyone from the madwifi developers has
opened a relative ticket on the linux-mips bugtrack.
